Travelled to USA - able to text, unable to make voice calls or use data - help?


- LG Nexus 5 - traveled to Las Vegas, NV - Purchased 3ALL plan (Data, Minutes & Text Combo (Data PLUS Unlimited Minutes & Text)) Was able to text people in USA and in Canada. Able to connect to Wifi. Unable to make voice calls (dead line, never got to ringing stage) and unable to use roaming data. Home now so really just looking for a credit for services I couldn't use and to find out if there is something on my account / phone preventing use while travelling in future ?

There shouldn't be anything special if you were just in the US. It's weird that you were able to text but not call or use data. Did you try anything such as restarting your phone manuall selecting a network or pulling out your sim, enable data roaming in your phone settings etc? To ask for a partial refund because of no service you'll need to call 611 or I think that the reps behind Koodo's Facebook page can handle thatas well. To save yourself time waiting on the phone I'd first send a private message to Koodo on Facebook and see what can be done there and explain what happened and be polite.

Thanks for the advice Goran, I contacted them through Facebook (phone wait time was >1hr) and received a credit for unused services.

@Cheryl Because we do not own the networks in the US we can't provide a guarantee regarding their coverage. Also, pls bear in mind that looking at your account, you are on a plan that is NOT available in your province and you will be asked by our rep to change to one that is available.
