Texts not being received/not receiving texts from others

Hi all. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5, and for the last month or so my texts have (intermittently) not been sending to others, and I have not been receiving their texts either.

I have looked around for an answer to this, and it seems like it has something to do with iMessage, so I should specify that [b]I have never owned an iPhone.

I have had this current phone for about a year, and have been with Koodo for over 5, and this has not happened to me before. It is becoming increasingly annoying because I am now missing over half the texts people send to me, and I can never be sure when someone has gotten mine.

Has anyone been having similar experiences? Is there a fix to this, or should I directly contact Koodo?

Here's an official response I found for the exact same model of phone as you so probably the best solution since it was working fine and now isn't it could very well be on Koodo's end. sorry to hear about the trouble you're having with SMS. We can try to troubleshoot by checking your account and make sure there aren't any issues on the back-end, but in order to do so we'll need to verify your credentials and account details. If you can send us a private message through Facebook, we can further help you with this matter.
A good solution, but I don't have Facebook. Thank you for the response!

If you don't have FB, you can still contact Koodo via phone or e-mail!
I'm following up with this post because I ended up contacting Koodo via phone and this is what happened:
The representative I was speaking with could not help me diagnose any real technical issues with my phone. We turned it off and on a few times, and they told me they were looking to see if I had any texts coming in or out from the towers (???) and that I did not. At this point I was barely receiving any texts. I never did get to solve this issue. Upgraded from a Galaxy S5 to an S7 because it was frustrating me so much. Haven't had that problem since. Arguably, the phone is the issue.

Were you able to make/receive phone calls?
Did they suggest you to put your SIM from S5 into different phone or go into Koodo store and check the Sim ?

I know it's already done, but anyone could try this when similar things happened and search for answer here in the community.

I hope you have no trouble with your new phone.  I'm using S7E mainly and love it 🙂

Hey! Yes, I was able to make/receive phone calls. They did not suggest I transfer my SIM card to a different phone to test it out, and no suggestion to go to a Koodo store to check. For anyone else, I am still using the same SIM card, but in a different phone. No issues.
