Text messages not sending or being received and phone is 'low on space' even though apps have been deleted.

My phone keeps saying it has no more space even though I have been deleting old messages and apps. Now it won't send or receive messages! I've already tried removing my battery and SIM card and nothing has changed. What do I do?

You can use this free app to manage your memory (both RAM and storage): https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.cleanmaster.mguard I use it on all of my Android devices.

Yes, I've mentioned it several times before. It's an absolute necessity for devices with 1 GB of RAM or lower, but I still use it on my N5. The ability to schedule cleanups is nice as well, though I stick to manual cleaning.
I tried that app (clean master). It made things way slower! It was suggested to me that I delete the updated version of maps and I got 15 mgs cleared! Thanks for all the suggestions!!
