terrible reception.

Just opened up a koodo account and I've literally got less than one bar everywhere..... Ready to cancel already and switch to a better carrier.

If you have one bar "everywhere", it may be your phone, not the carrier. It is highly unlikely that signal strength his poor EVERYWHERE  you have travelled.
My cousin has the exact same phone and carrier and has full bars everywhere.

If your cousin gets full bars in the same places worth the same carrier and the same model of phone that proves it is not the carrier. Exchange the phone under warranty if you're under two weeks, get it repaired if you're not.
