Telus Galaxy S3 can't get data

I am getting a message "Selected network (koodo) is unavailable" on my Telus galaxy s3. The network bar signal is full and I can make and receive calls but no Netework data. Someone please help!

Hi Allen, so just data doesn't work, but the rest does? Can you confirm that the network settings are set to Koodo and not Telus? APN should be set to: sp.koodo.com 🙂

As Sophia said Allen, make sure the APN settings are ok... My wife's phone is Telus device, and it happened to me at the beginning with data and mms, once I set it up according to the link, it worked fine!!! Follow the link... http://koodomobile.com/en/ab/non-koodo-phone-data-setup.shtml
I have tried to go to APN, there are only two TELUS SP and TELUS ISP and they are both read only. There is nothing like Koodo.

Can you add an APN? If so, add the one Camilo referred to (I always leave out the proxy though, but try both)... success 🙂
...and I dont see any way to create a new APN...probably because its a TELUS phone. Is there any way around it please?

I bought a cheapie Telus phone (Galaxy Discover) and I can add a new APN from the menu below... Mobile Network Settings -> Access Point Names -> Menu -> New APN. Does that not work for you? You COULD try to reset to default, that seems to be a workaround I seem to remember...
I have tried to go to.... Mobile Network->Access Point Nemes : here there are two APNs which both reads TELUS and they are read only. There is no option of adding a new APN on my phone. Does it mean that it is locked to Telus only?

Allen... when you are there and you see the available APN's, Tap on the left buttom next to the home button, then you will have the option to add an APN....

Unfortunately Telus Galaxy S3 will not work properly with Koodo. Even when you set the APN it will continuously revert back to the Telus APN. I believe it reverts back when ever you shut the phone off and then you have to set it up all over agin. Go into the APN settings and press the menu button, it will give you the option to add an APN. Add a Koodo APN with Koodo’s settings then hit menu button on the phone and select save. Just remember when you shut the phone off you'll lose the Koodo APN and have to set it up all over again.

Kid, My wife has a S3 white from Telus... It works perfectly fine with Koodo, since day one no issues whatsoever, this is about the settings... I will suggest allen to call Tech support and they will assist him on the issue....

There have been 2 or three ppl on here that have the issue I stated with the a galaxy S3 so I was just going by what they have stated. I don't know if it got fixed with the Jelly Bean 4.1 update for the Galaxy S3. Did your wife recently get the Galaxy S3, like in December or sooner?

Go online to a service like GSM LIBERTY. They will send you an unlock code within minutes of putting in your order.

Great to hear they must have fixed the issue when the phone was updated to Jelly Bean 4.1 months ago
