swapping phones with another person


Complicated question.. My boyfriends tab is payed off and his S2 is broken. Can he order a new phone online and not activate it. He would then put his old sim card into my S2 and take that phone, and I would take the new s3 an activate it as my phone. ..? Also, if the new phone is an S3 and my old phone was an S2, the sim cards arent the same so what is the app to transfer all my stuff to the new phone?

you would have to buy 2 new sim cards one micro sim and activate on your account and one regular sim and activate it on his account. Yes its a doable 😃

what if he still just wants to use his old sim card? just move it from his broken s2 to my s2

and why cant i just use the unactivated microsim that comes with the s3?

Koodo does not place restrictions on which phone you use or on which account, if it works, it works. You are completely free to sell the brand new S3 even, and use any old phone on that account. Likewise, Koodo does not enforce that a SIM card sold or given with a device is only used for that particular phone, if it's unactivated, you can do with it as you wish. You really think things out too deep, Natalie 🙂

Thinking too deep cause we want to be sure this will work before buying. If he buys from the store can he ask them not to activate it? If they have to, how does he revert his account back to his old regular Sim card afterwards?

It's not a phone that is activated, but a SIM. The phone will need a Google account to receive emails etc but you can ask the store not to do that either. Of COURSE the store doesn't HAVE to activate the SIM card, especially since you already have a Koodo plan. Just tell 'm to hand over the merchandise 🙂
