You must have a 3GS then? The 4 and 4S used micro SIM and then the 5 and up all use nano. You go to any store or retailer like Future Shop/Best Buy/Mobile Shop/Wow Mobile etc. and ask them for a micro SIM. You can also order it online. They're $10 + tax on postpaid. Once you have the new SIM, log onto your computer at home and go to Self Serve. Click on the Mobile Phone tab. Go to the bottom left where it says change phone and follow the instructions for activating a new SIM.
thanks! I went in to buy a new SIM and the guy at the counter had a little puncher that just cut my sim down to size - worked like a charm!

For free? That's awesome!

Where did you go, please. I went to a place next to my house and they are willing to charge 6$ just for cutting!!

Hi Francy,

The recommended method is to actually go and get a proper sized SIM card (10$), when using a cut SIM card, you risk of damaging your phone and the receiver device that reads the SIM card's information.

Bestbuy usually has has stamp cutters and doesn't charge for it. At least they shouldn't. If you want to ensure no potential damage you will hav to make sure it's filed properly so nothing gets caught. If you're not Ok with this risk you should just get a new micro Sim as Mathieu suggests.

Just a heads up: nano SIM specs indicate that the card is 15% less thick than the other formats. So be careful... don't force when inserting.

The tolerances usually allow for it so long as you're gentle with it. If it won't go in with small to MAYBE moderate force, don't keep trying to force it in. Unless you're willing to take the DIY to the next level by sanding it down, just get a nano Sim.
yeah, for free!
