SIM cards and replacing phones

I'm replacing a damaged phone (screen broken), can I keep my SIM card and move it to the new phone, or do I have to get a new SIM card? I'm going from an HTC to a Samsung Galaxy.

You keep your sim as long as they are the same size. All you do is move the sim from your old phone to your new one. Nothing else to do. If you're buying a new phone from Koodo it should come with a sim card. If your first card isn't the same size you can easily transfer the svc to your new card through self serve for free.
Thanks, that's what I assumed. The person at the booth said the SIM stays in phone regardless of what replacement phone I get.
Thanks for the info. I'll check the sizes.

Even if your new phone uses a smaller SIM, you can cut your old card to fit. There are templates you can print out.

What phone is it, Catherine? I know some are a pain to remove the back cover! Try prying carefully around it with your nails if it's a soft flexible cover, or some you have to press slightly then slide up or down. I know I had to ask help too 😃
Question same phone just switch carriers over from Telus to Kodoo Any difficulties involved if I want to keep the same phone number?
