Signup Billing Issue Seems Like Fraud

[b]On May 6 2017 I was enticed by a Koodo sales agent at [b]Canada Computers store on Sources Blvd to take the packed [b]$49.00 for the first month with 6 gigs of data and then it would switch to $[b]39.00 per month for the next 6 months.

[b]Well guess what I really received!!!

No where in my order is it stated 6 months @ $39.00
Also I referred someone who signed up the same day for a $50 credit.
Koodo sent me a confirmation email that I earned my $50 credit.

[b]Yes you are right now they don't have it in my account anymore.

[b]Who else was promised 6 months at $39.00 and 6 gigs of data in May?

[b]Thank you for your help

Koodo / Telus you should be ashamed for this type a tactics.

Hello Rick,

Who "promised 6 months at $39.00 and 6 gigs of data in May"?? Never seen that offer in my life.[b]
Hello Robert

It was sales agent at Canada Computer in store Kiosk .
He even wrote it on my order agreement he gave me that day.
Also I have a witnessed who was there with me.
In may they were advertising it all over Internet and TV commercials.

The $50 credit can take 4-8 weeks to appear on your bill.
As well, if you don't wish to have the $49/month plan you can feel free to change it yourself via self serve.
I want the plan that I was sold.
It is not legal to bait and switch.
It has been 8 weeks already.

If you ordered the plan on May 6 it would have been 6 weeks come tomorrow. If you dont receive the credit within two weeks then I would contact Koodo on what is going on with the referal.

Allan when I log into my referral dashboard the credit is gone completely.

Where exactly has it dissappeared from? When you look at your referal history you should see 3 options. Is it not showing up under the "Completed" section?

It may just be a glitch or in a state of transition or something. Check again in a day or two. And like mentioned above, if you dont receive the credit on your next bill, (Or your next bill after 8 weeks have past since the referal) contact Koodo here (https://referafriend.koodomobile.com/common/contact.pg) and they can help explain whats happening.

I did contact them tonight before posting here.
The support rep was very polite and sad that he couldn't help me because no where in the system did it show my package and referral credit.

[b]It was k-mobile.ca offer they were promoting in may. K-mobile.ca is owned by Koodo.

Actually, k-mobile is an independent dealer, and even manufactures their own phones. Their website provides an interesting read.

Then why do they sell Virgin plans?

And why does their 'About Us" state: [i]"The company was founded 17 years ago by our CEO Mr. Munir Shami, and has ever since been actively involved in the telecommunications industry. We manufacture and distribute our own line of smartphones.

[i]Our mission is to contribute to Canada’s communication sector through innovation, quality services and products, collaboration with our partners, and talented individuals. We aim to open 250 stores in Ontario by 2018.

[i]Our vision is to be a great place to work, where people are inspired to be the best they can; bring to Canada a portfolio of quality stores, smartphones, and tablets that satisfy and anticipate every customer’s desires; nurture a strong network of suppliers and customers; and most importantly, continue supporting sustainable communities.

[i]We have partnered with Koodo Mobile as a multi-carrier."

[b]It is amazing!

Do you think for a second that all that is read when one is walking by a Kiosk in Canada Computer and is pitched the package of 6 months $39 with 6 gig data and unlimited long distance?

I know you have 61,000 something points.

I am not here to make this my life long passion.

Just wanted to come in and make my issue known and see if others are in the same boat.

From the k-mobile website: "This plan is $10 off for 6 months starting from you second bill. The $10 credit will be offered directly from K-Mobile into your Koodo Account. K-Mobile is responsible for any discount which needs to be applied to your account." So you should receive the discount on your next bill. If you dont receive it then you have to contact K-Mobile to fix this for you.
Thank you Allan for your post.

Also, "K-Mobile is responsible for any discount which needs to be applied to your account" so I guess if it's not applied it's their customer service that you should contact. Do not misinterpret K-Mobile for Koodo 😛
It was the k-mobile / koodo / virigin sales agent who created the issue.
I was told that Koodo owned K-mobile and that is why the account was created under koodo.
Robert I know you want to defend Koodo and your replies here have shown that.

[b]As you suggested I could use self serve to change the plan if I didn't like it.

What you completely ignored was what I was promised and sold in store.

Why would you even suggest using self serve to down grade the original offer sold to me?

I'm new to K-Mobile being a thing, but if they are owned by koodo, as the Rep says, it still would be run separately much like how if you have issues with Koodo or pm , you don't go to Telus for solutions. No one is ignoring what you were told in store. You were even told that you should speak directly with K-Mobile in order to get it resolved.

I went in wanting k-mobile and the agent signed me up under Koodo brand.
So my account is with Koodo.

Be that as it may, K-Mobile is explicitly responsible for the discount that you are seeking. You can interpret what Robert (as well as Allan) said as him 'defending' Koodo, but it also happens to be the truth.
