Selling Koodo phone


I signed on with Koodo in August 2016, getting myself a Samsung Galaxy S7. I'm not really digging the phone though and would like to sell it to move back to an iPhone. I'm not looking to leave Koodo though. What are my options? Can I pay off the remainder of my tab and sell the phone to someone else and then sign back up with Koodo with an iPhone?

Yes. Or you could sell the phone and buy an iPhone with the money that you made selling the Samsung phone.

Yes u can pay off tab and sell it to anyone. Just let them be aware that it's locked to Koodo/Telus. You don't have to re sign up, you just add a new tab and phone to your current account and away you go.
I do have the option of unlocking it if I pay the fee though, right?

Doubtful, once the TAB is paid out. A phone purchased outright can be unlocked immediately. A phone paid out fully should also be able to be unlocked immediately. Since this is an Andriod phone, you can get it unlocked by a third party, anyway, so Koodo need not even be involved in the process!

Its quite a bit cheaper to unlock androids via third party options like on ebay. The instructions are ver easy.

Does doing a 3rd party unlock void the warranty though?

No. However, if you perform a third party unlock, you will need a second nanoSIM card from a different provider in order for the phone to prompt for an unlock code. Some of us may not have an extra nanoSIM card laying around. The alternative is to enter #7465625*638*# from your phones' dialpad. The code works with most Samsung phones and should bring up a similar screen where you can enter the unlock code.
