If the phone says no sim card then there is either a problem with the phone or the sim itself. It means that the phone does not physically detect that there is a sim card inserted. It has nothing to do with your account, or with koodo's network.
Unfortunately I was a victim through Koodo's cell phone provider a couple of weeks ago and when I signed up for prepaid and a new sim card, drove home and no service !!!

ANSWER : depends were U live ... sorry to say from Koodo tech. support team, they did research and found out there are towers down in my area and needs to be service ASAP and there is no answer on eather side including (Telus towers) when they will be up and running again.

Never will go back to Koodo: poor service, no service, had to activate online myself and can't ever answer important text or phone calls in or outside my own home 😞

..............................................................................

So strongly suggest for future reference is to ask what coverages works in your area and if U get full service, there's no refund for prepaid users ... ~RCR~

If the phone says no sim card then the above doesn't apply. If there is No Service available your phone will say "No Service". No Sim Card indicates a different issue entirely.
I know there is service in my area for the past two years been woth koodo, just now on this new phone iy wont pick up right.

I strongly suggest you remove your sim card and reinstall it. There is also the possibility that the sim card has failed (even new SIM cards can fail). If the problem persists, head over to a kiosk and ask them to try the stores SIM card. If your phone works then you just need a new SIM. If it doesn't work you need warranty service ( if you have had the phone for less than a year it has a warranty) for your new phone. If it's been less than 15 days you may be able to return the device and get a new one. Check with the kiosk or retailer for more information about your warranty.

Where did you get your phone? If you have the Russian variant (K130E), then you're missing the 1900 MHz 3G band, which would result in a reduced coverage area for you (i.e. only when in range of towers broadcasting the 850 MHz band).
