Are you talking about a SIM lock pin, or the phone itself, Kathryn? If it's a SIM lock you will have to contact Koodo (Facebook direct message is the fastest), but if it's the phone, you may need to perform a factory reset.
Not sure...it's the pin I use to access my phone. What would make it do this? I don't understand

When it asks for your pin, what exact message do you get? I mean what is it asking for?

It just tells me, "Wrong PIN entered"

If you have a Google Account attached to the phone, I believe there is a process that once you mis-enter the PIN enough times it will allow you to reset the phone through your Google Account.
You can also search the net for the term "Samsung S5 Neo Hard Reset" to find a number of options to reset your phone to factory settings.

This makes sense. Btw, if the phone gets a factory reset through the bootloader, it'll "Google lock", and will only be usable once the user signs in on initial start-up with their Gmail account. There's a way to bypass Google lock on certain samsung phones via OTG, not sure if it'd work on the S5 neo (don't think it'd work on the original S5).
This shouldn't be an issue for OP, as it's her phone, anyway.

But I did not enter it incorrectly the first time...so why did it lock me out??

'Why' questions are really hard for us to answer, not knowing all that might have happened to the phone, and not having access to it to run any diagnostics. All we can do is offer suggestions as to how you might address the issue you are facing.

Well....I just tried the PIN on my phone again, and lo and behold, it worked! Not sure what went wrong, but it's all good now. Thanks for your advice!
