Setting up A Koodo phone for MMS with no additional Data Access Navigate to Settings / Wireles...Hi Chad, when you say adding a false proxy ip to the nodata apn like 77.88.9.77, Do you mean replacing APN: sp.koodo.com with it in the No data apn? Because I used the sp.koodo.com while turning on data, and it charged me for data. Other applications such as Samsung push service used the data.

Setting up A Koodo phone for MMS with no additional Data Access Navigate to Settings / Wireles...The false proxy would replace the proxy server. You can also replace the apn with something like dummy.apn.com.

Setting up A Koodo phone for MMS with no additional Data Access Navigate to Settings / Wireles...Where do I input this? In Koodo (NoData) under proxy? Or under APN(instead of sp.koodo.com)? Also, I notice that whenever I'm sending a picture message, other items such as Android OS, Google Services, and Samsung Push Service are getting internet access as the amount of KB they used, increases everytime I send a picture message.

Setting up A Koodo phone for MMS with no additional Data Access Navigate to Settings / Wireles...Hey Chad! Just wanted to say thanks! I have a Galaxy Discover and your instructions worked perfectly. I recently switched from Telus to Koodo, and was still using the Telus APN. The only things I had to change were the MCC and MNC as they were filled in by default and could not be left blank. I sent a test picture to myself and it successfully sent and recieved! Thank you so much, you were a great help. The goofball who posted just before you didn't seem to know what the hell he was talking about...need a data plan to receive pictures? Pfff cmon. Thanks again.

Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet.

Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet. [img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1....this will work on all Android phones the example given above this one will not work on factory unlocked devices so it's easiest to just use this method because it works on all phones. *Not taking anything away from that method because it could possibly work, just not on all phones. *
Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet. [img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1....And as long as I have picture messaging, i will not get any data usage and additional charges?

Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet. [img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1....Above example from me needs to have APN type set to mms, I just noticed it says blank
Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet. [img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1....how do you do that?
Do this and it will work for just sending photos and no Internet. [img]https://d1qy7qyune0vt1....I am unable to choose this APN. It doesn't have the option to choose it. I named the APN 'Koodo Picture Messaging'. See here: http://i47.tinypic.com/or7y21.png
Well I just left it for a while and then tried turning wifi off again, and it didn't turn 4G on again so I guess it might be working now? Maybe Hank was right when he said that my phone was sending out waiting pictures but anyways, I'll let you guys know if I ever come across any problems again. Thanks for your help everyone I really appreciate it!! 🙂 Also, tried to run browser with wifi off and it didn't work! Excellent!
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g wont work even if it wants to so now even if i use google while sending an mms it wont connect properly before it would just use the koodo server to connect to the internet if i didn't have wifi but the second half i left the same pretty much default settings but mms only for apn type.
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...AWESOME! This worked perfectly for me!!
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...haha no problem I'm suprised someone saw this so fast thats cool but yeah it was being a real bitch to me b4 so i feel ur pain
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...I actually noticed that whenever I'm sending a picture message, other items such as Android OS, Google Services, and Samsung Push Service are getting internet access as the amount of KB they used, increases every time I send a picture message. How do you disable those other apps from using 4G whenever a picture message is being sent? Here, try this out. Take a screenshot of your usage (including the apps) before sending a picture message, and after. You will find an increase.

for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...Use the solution Chad put at the top of this thread it works, or the one I put below that
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...I followed chad's solution, and I added in the fake proxy and changed the no data apn to sp.kudy.com (as without it, I was automatically connected to 4G as soon as I turned on mobile data). Now when I turn off wifi, I am not connected to 4G and cant access the internet. Thats great! Just what I want. However, when I am sending a picture message, and when the 4G icon does come back on, I notice that along with the picture message being sent, other background processes (which I mentioned above) appear to be using data as well.

for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...Are you actually being charged though? Sending a picture message actually uses data but it is covered so you don't see a charge. But data usage does occur
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...Well, Koodo wouldn't charge me for the picture messages I have sent. (Thus I ignored the Messaging part of the data usage. But there are others (such as Android OS, Samsung Push Service, and Google Services), that keep increasing in KBs used.

for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...I'm asking if you are being charged for the data usage for the other things (such as Android OS, Samsung Push Service, and Google Services). When you log into self-serve and view your data usage, are you actually being charged or is it $0.00 Also, how do you know that these apps are actually responsible for the data usage?
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...Wouldn't I be? Considering data that isn't being used for picture messaging is being consumed? Currently, it states nothing, but that most likely must be because I just consumed the data a few minutes ago, and their tracking systems might not be real-time. I'll check again in a day, and update this post.

for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...Your looking at your phones settings to see your data usage, right?
for the primary apn i just made sp.koodo.com --> sp.kudy.com(basically anything wrong) now 3g won...This is what I'm looking at. All the numbers on the right hand side, increase whenever I send a picture message. And I also had restrict background app data enabled. http://oi47.tinypic.com/14y893.jpg
