Samsung Galaxy Ace -- Cannot Text

Hey guys, on my Samsung Galaxy Ace, I haven't been able to receive or send text messages. My girlfriend is on the same network and plan but hasn't had any issues. When I reboot the phone, it will allow me to send and receive, but after a few minutes it will not work again.. Any help will be awesome...

Check out this thread http://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/galaxy_ace_not_texting_on_data it should let you know about the issue.
Doesn't help at all. I don't have a data plan, nor do I ever have the 2G,packet or data roaming on ever. Even shutting it off, pulling battery/SIM doesn't work..

If you are sure that the "use packet data" is unchecked, you've taken the battery and SIM card out when you have the phone on, then call Koodo fo rthem to further troubleshioot the issue. Most, if not all text issues can be resolved within 5 minutes. All depends on who you talk to

Try a factory reset. Settings > Privacy > Factory data reset - in this window make sure the Back up my data and Automatic restore boxes are check marked. Then tap Factory data reset. Do not tap - Format SD card as this is where your backup files reside. This is generally a last resort method, if this doesn't fix the issue you're having, you'll have to send it in for repair or possibly upgrade to a better device.
So it seemed to have fixed itself when I went to class today, but as soon as I got back home, it stopped sending and receiving again...

Does your School have wifi that your phone connects to while at school?

Yes, but I always have WiF off, and i don't have a data plan, therefore, I dont have data roaming or packet on ever.

With that being said, call Koodo tech support from another line and have the issue looked at. They will confirm with you about the packet data situation as part of the initial troubleshooting. Give it a try and see how it goes
