Samsung Galaxy Ace 2x will NOT send or recieve messages, and I have service.

My samgsung Galaxy Ace 2x phone that I recently bought is having trouble sending and recieving messages. I have service, but when i try to send a message it just says "Failed". I'm not sure why. It did this before on my last phone (a blackberry) occassionally, but its been a couple days sense this phone has worked properly. HELP PLEASE.

Is packet data turned on? The Samsung Galaxy Ace's won't seem to send messages if the data is turned on. I don't know why but it's a well known bug that many users face unfortunately. If it is on, try turning it off and sending a text message. It should work.
Did you figure out the problem? I'm having the same issue with my prepaid Samsung Galaxy Ace. I get the 'failed' message when I'm outside of wifi but it was working when I was around wifi areas. Now it won't even send in a wifi area. It says 'sending' when the network becomes available. Ugh!!! Let me know if you figured it out please! Thanks alot! 🙂

This is getting a little ridiculous. Samsung really needs to fix this problem and Koodo should thoroughly field test equipment prior to selling it. While this is an annoyance, the workaround is simple. Install a data toggle widget on your home screen. This will save you time from having to go through the menus to turn data on and off each and every time you want to send a text message. Keep in mind MMS messages (messages that include pictures) require data. If this is happening with your home wireless network, reboot the wireless router and and configure the router to allow the Ace to become a preferred device via MAC address, this will fix the Wi-Fi connectivity issue. Clearing out your text message inbox is another remedy as the Ace limits itself to how many messages can be stored per conversation. The minimum default value is 20 messages per conversation, the maximum value that can be entered is 5000.
