Question

Samsung Galaxy A5 upgrade question...

I am an existing Koodo monthly customer on a $35 a month plan and have a tab credit of $129.

Currently I am going through the motions of upgrading to a Samsung Galaxy A5, and putting the remaining after promos and tab balance on to my tab, which ends up being $230. My question is... after 90 days can I pay this off in full without forfeiting the $140 that I relieved when I get the phone?  If this is the case, is the Tab balance actually the retail price ($500) minus my tab credit of $129?

thanks
Darren.

Hi Darren, yes after 90 days your free and clear to pay off your tab with no repercussions.
To be clear...

That tab balance would be $230 or $370 (retail price minus tab credit)?

The tab would be $360 and then if you have a positive tab amount that will bring it down by that amount more yes.

Also this phone has a bunch of discounts when I sign up for a small tab:

  • $140 off the Samsung Galaxy A5 (32 GB, black) phone.
  • $50 in bill credits over 6 months ($8 off/month)
  • Bill credit promo of $50 is applicable online only.
Would I lose these if I paid it off in say 6 months?

thanks again.

Darren.

On tab small you would be putting $240 on the tab and the positive tab you have now would make it $0 at the time of purchase. The $140 activation credit is already in the price. If you cancel before 90 days you will owe the full amount including the activation credit, after 90 days you just pay the remaining tab amount of $240.

Great. That makes sense.

One last question... Does the 10 minus tx that you pay monthly come directly off the tab? For example, in six months at 10 dollars a month the amounting owing on the tab would be $180?

Yes it's taxed as if your paying the tax on the full price of the phone and in 6 months it will drop by $60 down to $180 correct.
