S6 not showing up on laptop

When I plug my phone into my laptop, it's charging, but the storage doesn't show up, and i'm not sure why.

This started happening a couple days ago.

Do you have an SD card installed? If you do have an SD card installed, did you opt for portable storage or internal storage after installing the SD card? The latter is used to increase the overall size of internal storage and mounts the storage area permanently making it impossible to view the contents of your phones' storage from your computer.

Swipe down from the top of the screen. You should see USB options. Tap this and see if it presents you with other options. If MTP is available, select that and see if your phone is now recognized by your laptop.
Try toinstall samsung usb drivers and try again

When it's plugged in, all it says is cable charging.

I found something online that says to dial *#0808#, but  i don't if it's free or not.

Kiss the cable goodbye and install Droid over WiFi on the app store.

Run the app on the phone and transfer files using your PC browser.

When I plug my S7 into the PC I get a message on the S& "Allow access to device data"? Click Allow then you will see your SD card and Internal Memory
