S4 is having trust issues.


I recently invested my hard earned money into a galaxy s4 after breaking it off with my blackberry curve. I've rarely ever had issues with my curve in regards to receiving phone calls and text msgs on time, whereas my s4 constantly (every day actually..) receives some texts later than they were sent to me. This also happens with phone calls and anyone calling me is directed straight to voicemail, even when i have full bars of connection and a fully charged battery! I've called koodo technical support but they seem to be of no help. Both times i've called they've asked me to hang up and do a battery and sim card pull while they push some updates.. which does not help at all as the problem persists literally hours later. I haven't had this issue with the blackberry curve cause i've been living in the same area so I know I have good connection here, but for some reason this phone doesn't receive my texts and calls on time. What do I do?

If the delays are longer than 20 minutes call Tech Support again and get them to log a network ticket.

I have the Galaxy S4 and have not had a single issue with it for the month or so I've had it. Do you still have the BlackBerry specific plan you had on your blackberry? It shouldn't affect it but I don't see any other reason that you'd be having these issues, especially if you've already tried the Battery/ SIM Card pull. When you do the BATTERY & SIM CARD pull Make sure your not shutting the phone off first just leave it on and pull the battery and SIM Card out for a minute or 2 and then replace them and try it again. If you have done it exactly like that then do a factory reset of the phone by going into settings - then click the Accounts Tab - Backup & Reset - then factory reset device and erase everything and really setup the phone. Make sure to back up your contacts and pics ect before reset as it will reset everything to factory default. If that doesn't work it's a dud phone or koodo tech needs to reset the switch on their end.

I'm a little confused about the part where the tech is telling Neha that they're pushing updates to her S4. Isn't that Blackberry terminology?

They can push the latest PLMN and the SMSC to the sim card.

My plan has actually changed once I got this phone, before this phone I was using my blackberry at this area too and never had issues with this.

Hello Neha, Sometimes if you are at an area that has limited signal, you may experience issues. Download the Telus Network Experience app from the google play store and report your signal connection.
