Replacing Phones

I want to replace my Samsung Galaxy Ace ii X with the Moto G when it comes out. How will the replacing procedure work? I got the Ace 2X on small tab (150) 6 months ago and the tab is only payed about $15 but I will pay the full price for the Moto G. Can I buy a new phone or do I have to wait till the tab pays off (5 years)?, do I keep my Ace 2x if I can get the Moto G?,do I have to change my plan or can I keep my $25 plan, and will they charge extra to replace the sim because the Moto G will have a different sim than the Ace 2x?

If you buy the phone outright you don't use the tab. This means you won't need to change your plan and the current tab balance will continue to be paid down as it was before. You may still need to pay for the different sized sim card if it is not included with the new phone.

The sim card come for free with any purchase of a phone with a postpaid account. Since you said that you have a Tab, you have a postpaid account.

Normally whenever you buy a new phone, a sim card is included with the phone. So you shouldn't have to worry about paying 10.00 for the card. In the event that your sim card does match the new phone, then they will just switch your existing sim to the new phone. However; most reps in the store or kiosk will automatically switch to a newer sim card to help prevent any unforeseen issues before they arise.

Since the 24 month Tab clearing came into effect on July 14, 2013, it would be a better idea to pay off your current tab and then buy the Moto G on a Tab S. You will spend the same amount of money but will be eligible for your tab to be cleared after 24 months. This does not occur with your current/older tab

Customers have two options when paying off their negative Tab: 1. At the till (cash, credit, debit) i) Only available at Koodo shops, not retailer locations. 2. By applying their full negative Tab balances to their next bill: i) Available at retailer and Koodo shop locations. ii) Can be completed via Self Serve (not the Self Serve app) iii) Customers can upgrade their phones as soon as their outstanding tab balance has been applied to their bill.

If you are buying another phone with the Tab then you will need to pay it off first. Otherwise there is no need to pay off your tab unless you are leaving Koodo.
