Question ABout huawei Ascend p7

Hello y'all. I am planning on getting an unlocked huawei ascend p7 online. The phone's network spec being; 4G FDD-LTE 900(B8)/1800(B3)/2100(B1) 3G W-CDMA 800(B19)/850(B5)/900(B8)/2100(B1)MHz 2G GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz. I want to know if this would work with koodo or any other network in canada... and also if the LTE is compatible Thanks

From the looks of it, it will work on the LTE network however it may not work fully on the HSPA network because it's missing a frequency. And HSPA is the main network when LTE isnt available so I dont recommend you get this phone

would it work on other networks though? and since it is gonna work on LTE, I think it is fair and on 3G too. To be sincere, Ascend p7 is the only phone on my mind at this time. Thanks .

The P7 will work on Koodo. You have the wrong specs there, they are 850/900/1900/2100 for 3G: http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_p7-6124.php I have had this phone before.

Koodo does not have a 2G network. For LTE to work, the phone needs to have the paired frequencies of 1700/2100 MHz (Band 4) and for HSPA 850/1900 (Bands 2 & 5). The phone won't get LTE because it's using a different LTE band, (Band 1) and the frequency pairing is not there. The phone might work on Rogers 2G network. For LTE, Rogers combines 2100 MHz and 2600 MHz for LTE-A and uses 1700 MHz for 4G. So you might get limited LTE operation on the 2100 MHz side. For any other networks, your best option would be to call the carrier direct or join their community forums and ask if your phone is compatible with their network. This may help. http://community.koodomobile.com/koodo/topics/the_big_three_canadian_network_frequencies
Does it mean the phone will also not work on 3G?

Correct. The Ascend P7 is missing the 1900 MHz frequency under 3G/WCDMA and the 1900 MHz frequency shows up under 2G. The phone may operate on 850 MHz for voice, but that's about it. I wouldn't recommend getting this phone for use on Koodo's network. Frequency bands by number http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/UMTS_frequency_bands

That is bad. I hope it works on other networks... cos this phone is all I want also.

Why not get the P8? P8 just came out and it supports much more bands.

The P8 will work on Koodo's network as it has all the necessary frequencies.

P7 will as well, the posted specs are wrong. http://www.gsmarena.com/huawei_ascend_p7-6124.php

Checking the manufacturers site, I came up with this. FDD LTE: B1/B3/B7/B8/B20 - no LTE UMTS: B1/ [b]B2/[b]B5/B8 - What will work (in bold) GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz - no 2G GSM network (Koodo). 850/1900 MHz is already mentioned under UMTS Bands 5 and 2. http://consumer.huawei.com/en/mobile-phones/tech-specs/ascend-p7.htm Edit: Just going by what the OP has asked and by the manufacturers' specs, both of which appear to be misleading or a misprint. Ivan mentions he's had the phone before, so the P7 works with Koodo.
