Question

Purchased international Roaming Plan; Not allowing outgoing/international calls

Before I visited Barbados I purchased the international roaming package (voice/data/text).  I am receiving and sending texts on my Samsung S4 with no problem and able to use my data.  I can make local calls but when I call to check my voice mail or make an international call; it advises me that outgoing calls or international calls cannot  be made from my phone number. I have tried using the '+' before the number but this does not work.

I purchased the same plan last year and do not recall being unable to make calls.

Any suggestions or ideas on what can be going wrong?

Have you tried using 011-1-10 digit phone number?

You will require either the $3 long distance saver or the free pay per use long distance saver add on in order to place any call that requires an international dialling prefix. You should be able to add these via self serve. If you cannot, you would need to contact koodo via facebook and ask them to provision the add on for you.
Thanks Timo but my understanding was that it was 50 minutes of voice time. Does that mean only local minutes? And not the ability to call long distance?

The roaming add on provides a discount on the roaming rate, no matter where you're calling to. The SOC code which allows you to dial international numbers (ones which require an international dialling prefix) is part of the long distance saver add ons, which means you will need one or the other on your account. The free version of the add on will work just as well for this purpose as the paid version.
