Prepaid can't send or receive picture messages! Help

I've had my prepaid koodo account for a while now, and have just switched phones about 2 weeks ago but kept the same account. My problem is that everything was working fine but now all of a sudden I can't send or receive picture messages. I do not have a data addon, never have, I have always used my wifi and I've never had any problems. I don't get it? I tried to check out my APN thing but it doesn't give me an option to change anything, I can see the info but it's faded. My plan has always stayed the same, unlimited text and picture message. What's going on??

Hi Megan, In order to receive and send out picture messages, you need mobile data. Unfortunately, you would need a data booster to send and receive picture messages. However, other alternatives would be downloading 3rd party apps such as hangouts or if your on an iPhone using iMessage. It will allow you to send picture messages through when connected to wifi. Hope this helps:)

I'm having the same problem. I've been on the same prepaid package with Koodo for about 5 years and this is the fourth phone. The first two were Samsungs and the third was a Motorola. They all worked fine. This LG3 does not and I have data turned on.

@brenda: the topic is 3 years old. Don't revive it. Try to create another topic.
Regarding your problem, can you try to set your APN to this: https://www.koodomobile.com/help/setting-data-your-non-koodo-phone

Thank you so much!! That worked.

Hi. I've read that before, but it wouldn't make sense since I've always sent and received picture messages, and have never had data add ons. I've never had any problems until yesterday out of no where. I've been sending and receiving picture messages for about 3 years now without having a data plan. I've also sent and received them without even being connected to wifi. I'm very confused, lol
Sorry, I forgot to mention the message it shows when I try to send one, it says "Transmission Failure, will try again later"

You don't need to have a dadata booster to send/receive picture messages. Did you turn on mobile data,? Also try power cycle.

Thanks for you reply 🙂 I haven't messed around with any of that, I'm afraid to mess it up even worse. How would I check mobile data is turned on or off? I don't understand why all of a sudden it has stopped working.

For post and pre you need to have data available and not blocked. But prepaid you can Mms without a data bucket.

I'm gettting the same error message - but I can't find a wireless & network tab.  Would it be titled something different?

I should mention that I am technologically challenged and that I have a BLU phone.
