Predictive Text on Moto G

I've been doing some searching on-line but can't come up with an answer that seems to work. I got the Moto G last night. I am loving my new phone, but I do NOT like predictive text. How do I turn it off or change the keyboard?

Settings > Language and Keyboard > Google keyboard. Poke around there to turn off predictive text. I highly recommend installing SwiftKey, especially now that it's free (used to be $4 and a free trial). It has very accurate predictive text because it learns from social media outlets, emails, other texts so it's almost creepy how well it knows you. I barely need to correct mistakes anymore.
