Pre-authorized Payment Rip-off

I signed up with Koodo on November 20, 2014. My payments are due on or before the 20th of every month, obviously. In December, I then signed up for Pre-authorized Payment and today, January 6, 2015, a payment was taken out. WHY????? In no way is this even acceptable.

When you signed up for pre authorized payments, there is a part of the Terms Of Service that states the payment could be pulled as soon as the invoice is generated. And by signing up for preauthorized payements , you agreed to that provision. That's why the preauth goes through before your due date.
Wow, so when you say the Pre-authorized Payment goes through before my due date, you mean more than 2 weeks? Is this always going to happen? I didn't know that I would be signing up for that type of withdrawal as I like to keep track and regulate all pre payments. Am I able to cancel then without any penalties or fees?

Yeah, the rep should have told you what was going to happen, I suppose then you wouldn't have been surprised.

Monthly customers pre-billed for services and then pre-debited before the pre-bill is due does not sound like consumer-friendly business practice to me. So if someone is going to bail out to another provider, it would be smart to kill the pre-authorized payments a few months in advance. Pretty sure they won't be so eager to send you your refund ahead of time...

Just so you know, your sign up date, your billing cycle/Invoice Date, your Payment Due Date, and your pre-authorization payment date are all different. If you look on your self serve it will tell yuo your due date. This is important if your pre-authorization fails so you have time to payment without your cell being disconnected
