Portable Hotspot

Alright, I have an unlocked Galaxy S3, originally locked to Bell. I recently tried to use my mobile hotspot and ran into a problem. I set up everything, and other devices are able to connect. The problem is, when they open a browser, they get no internet access. I'm thinking this is due to my phone being unlocked, but I'm not 100% sure. Does anyone have any feedback or suggestions? Any help would be greatly appriciated. I really don't want to get rid of this red S3. One last thing, before anyone asks, yes, my LTE is active and turned on when attempting to do this. Thanks in advance to anyone who can assist. -Dan

Are you able to use data on your S3 normally (non-wifi)

It may be the software as Bell charges for tethering do they not. If they do it could very well be the software the phone is running from Bell. Have you tried rooting the phone and running a different ROM?
I don't know how to root it. And yes, I have the Canada Wide 6GB plan.

Well that's unfortunate... last thing I could think of is try a factory reset. You'll lose all stuff on the phone, so make sure you have it backed up. Then take out the battery and SIM card. Put it back together and boot up the phone. This should load up a Koodo-type version of the S III software and might enable tethering to work. It's worth a shot.

How does doing a factory reset on Bell software change it to Koodo's software?

You have the Canada wide 6GB plan, but that does not say if you are actually able to connect to data on your phone right now. Your plan and your phone give you the ability to connect, but if you are actually connecting on your phone is another question.
Yes. I use my LTE on a regular basis.
Anyone know how to root?

Check out the XDA forums. They are your best bet
