Port from voip.ms


I signup koodo and ported my number from voip.ms; This morning i received a text from Koodo stating "Your transfer request has been completed successfully".
Now, I am able to receive call on my koodo sim but not the text. Text still goes to my voip.ms account. 

I called up the porting department, and was informed that everything looks good on their end.

Anybody else has similar experience?

You should definitely call technical support and have them troubleshoot for you. I think they can do things the porting department can't 

edit: also i've never in my years come across an issue such as yours. interesting indeed

Thanks Ahmad, will definitely give them a call in few minutes since their hour starts at 9am.

I just did this two weeks ago and had a similar issue.


It takes 24hrs for national networks to update their routing and point to the new provider was the explanation voip.ms gave me. Sure enough, everything was fine the next day.


If it's an issue for today grab the voip.ms sms app from your play store. Make sure you read the app description so you can configure notifications.

Great!! Guess I will wait for another day then before calling up support (if it still doesn't work) since it's a known issue.

By any chance, do you need to manually remove the number from your voip.ms account after everything works on koodo side?
From the voip.ms FAQ, I am supposed to receive an email from them that my no# has been ported out and they will remove the number from my voip.ms account; I haven't receive such email yet from voip.ms though.

That I can't answer since my port was the other way. Voip. Ms has a fantastic live chat on their website, you could ask them directly. Very helpful

I've ported numbers to and from voip.ms.  When I ported a number out (just a few weeks ago), voip.ms automatically cancelled and removed the number from my DIDs.

When I ported a number from koodo to voip.ms, it took a few days for my SMS to be working on the number I ported to voip.ms

You were right yesterday. This morning onwards, everything works smoothly (text, call , data).
And i could see the number already removed from my voip.ms DID panel.
