Phone says 'no sim card'

I took out sim card, then put it back in. Now phone says 'no sim card'. Phone is basic Samsung Galaxy. Then tried restoring phone to factory defaults, which made it a lot faster, but did nothing. Also tried removing batter and sim, then putting them back in.

That happens sometimes with sim cards

The sim could have been damaged during withdrawal and insertion
If the phone shows "no sim card" then you don't have the sim card inserted correctly or the phone isn't working properly. Bring it into a kiosk for an assessment.
