Phone not receiving signal


I bought a Koodo SIM today for my phone, which is a phone from the UK about 1 year old (HTC Sensation XE). The phone is able to work on my British SIM here in Canada, and I have unlocked it with the IMEI unlocking code that I received from my UK network operator. When I inserted the code, it said the phone was successfully unlocked, but after a reboot it couldn't connect to any phone network. I have done a scan and it cannot detect the Koodo network anywhere I have been - I live in downtown Montreal so finding a signal shouldn't be a problem... What do you think the problem is? Are you prepaid or postpaid? Prepaid activations may take a while, postpaid is usually instant. The other thing is it's entirely possible that the phone is incompatible with Koodo's network but as long as it's an HSPA phone with compatible frequencies, it should work.
