Phone got locked again

I was using Samsung Galaxy s5 and it was unlocked by koodo, I used this unlocked phone in India and can back to Canada and use it again with koodo. Now I got a new s7 from koodo, I confirmed with customer care that my s5 is unlocked and they said yes it is unlocked . Now I went back to India after a year . I insert a new sim card in my s5 and it's asking for the lock code . Can anyone help me in this . How should I recover my lock code again

Hi Prashant, once a phone is unlocked it will not become locked again. Did you ever have to send your phone for repair?

I would check with Samsung. Depending on the source, some of their devices will lock to a carrier once the SIM is inserted. Perhaps the unlocking process did not defeat that "feature".

That is different than unlocking the phone though, if the OP paid for an unlock code that was entered into the phone then said phone is unlocked for the future life of that device, it's not the same as purchasing an unlocked device.

Is it asking for a puk code?

Bob, that only applies to the very first SIM that's inserted into the device - the device factory resets and is then locked to that carrier (how did I learn about the factory reset - by fully setting up my S7 edge and then inserting my Koodo SIM, forcing me to set it up AGAIN).

Although Paul is correct that am unlocked phone should remain unlocked for good, I have occasionally seen this scenario happen before, particularly if there was an OS update. If koodo provided the initial unlock code there should be a record of it on your account. I'd recommend contacting them via Facebook so they can secure the account and look it up for you.
Thank you all for your reply . I left a message on Facebook to koodo , now I'm just waiting for there reply. Again thanks a lot for your time . Have a good one .
