Has anyone upgraded to Nougat for Moto G4 plus? If so, was there any problems?

Check out a Moto G4 aficionado site to see what's being said there - you will be amongst a crowd of folks with like phones.

K. I see Nougat is ready for me to download and install. What would I Google and would a Moto G4 plus on Koodo experience the same problems with the same phone sold by say AT&T in the U.S.?

I can't see why it wouldn't be the same experience as the same phone sold by say AT&T in the U.S.

Yesterday, I upgraded to Nougat.  I went on the Lenovo community to see what issues users were having. My only two issues from the many facing users are:

1. Several times I have powered down and restarted and the phone continuously tries to restart at the Motorola logo.  I think this is called a boot loop failure. The phone continuously tries to get past a point, fails, then tries again, fails, and so on until the little android guy shows with "no command" under him and it stops there.  I got past this by doing a soft reboot.  Press and hold the power and volume down button simultaneously until the screen goes blank. Once the screen is blank, let go of the buttons and the phone will reboot and get past the boot loop failure.  This is what you need to do if your phone freezes for any reason, it's how you disconnect the battery since you can't remove it.
2. Wallpaper moves on the back of my screen, annoying to me.  I suspect this is probably so you can move to the correct spot and paste it somehow but for now I got around that by picking my spot, taking a screen shot, and using that as wallpaper which won't move.
Other issues from the Lenovo community that I haven't had any issues with are: turbo charging is slow, notification or phone sounds not working, short battery life and overheating, camera freezing, fingerprint sensor not working, long hang times, ghost touch, play store not downloading or updating, and google music quitting mid song.
Good luck.

In response to part 2, the "moving" wallpaper is the product of having an oversized picture as your wallpaper. Pictures that don't fit your phone put themselves onto multiple screens so that you see the full image when you scroll. Looks like you solved this issue but if you run into it again, just find a wallpaper that is dimensioned for your phone.

Thanks Allan.  I believe even the wallpapers that came with the phone also move around so I think this may be a Nougat glitch or there is some way of pinning them down other than the screenshot thing. Some wallpapers are from the app Zedge. They also move around but didn't before I upgraded to Nougat. Cheers!

It is called wallpaper scrolling. You can look into it if you'd like. You need the right sized wallpaper for your screen otherwise it scrolls. Its possible that wallpapers that came with your phone have this to show off the feature.

Would be awesome to have an option to toggle wallpaper scrolling!

Re Wallpaper.  The new wallpaper that came automatically with Nougat didn't move but perhaps they had some that allowed scrolling and some that did not.

"Would be awesome to have an option to toggle wallpaper scrolling!"

Isn't there an option to turn it off as there is on iOS?

Re: soft reboot on Moto G4 plus.  I just realized that you only need to press the power button for about 10 seconds to do a soft reboot, not power and volume down button as I had previously stated.  When the screen goes blank, just let go.  This will get you past the boot loop failure with the Nougat update as described above if you have that problem. I do after every power down and power up. I believe this disconnects the battery which is the only way to reboot your phone if it freezes for any reason.  This makes sense since we can't remove batteries anymore and it is the same for a soft reboot on any PC.

If there is an option to turn off wallpaper scrolling, it is not where I looked.  Settings, display, wallpaper...
