Nexus 5 camera strip

Hi there. I've just purchased a new Nexus 5 online, it's working perfectly. When I took a closer look at the rear camera I found a white strip, like a tag that's woven within the rim of the camera pointing towards the top edge of the phone. Never seen it on other Nexus 5 devices. Should I be removing this, as it doesn't seem to be affecting the lens. Camera action is normal. Thanks!

Hey Judas,

Could you share a screenshot please? All Koodo phones are offered with a 15-day money back guarantee (http://koo.do/Jc3k7s). You can visit the Nexus Help page for specific assistance with the Nexus series. Here's the link: http://koo.do/1RreFyd

Hope this helps!

If its on the outside, you can remove it, Its just like a screen protector. You can also leave it on as it wont impact picture quailty that much. If it is on the outside , i would take it off tho.

I'm gonna take a closer look. It doesn't seem to be affecting picture quality though

Zooming into your picture, I can see the edge of film used to protect the camera lens during shipping. Here's a video, fast-forward to 2:58 and you can see the protective film being removed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RmCBTNobLnk

Would be very hard to screenshot the back of the phone 🙂 But if its a sticker covering the back camera, or a piece of plastic, then yes remove it. Dont do any invasive removal, but if its something just sticking there, yes remove it. If its inside/attached to the lens itself, then return the phone as it shouldn't be there. It should be just like any other rear camera on any other phone best of luck!
