Nexus 4 and New Koodo Sim Problems


I just switched to a new Google Nexus 4 and got a new koodo sim card. When i receive text messages, I frequently receive duplicates or triplicates of them. In addition, I've had problems with calls being dropped, or people calling me going straight to voicemail. Any idea what's going on? Thanks

Hi Noah, Try to remove the battery and SIM card for a few minutes, then put them back. See if that solves the problem. If not, you may need to call Koodo... if possible from a landline so they can troubleshoot your phone while talking!

For the text issue are you running the stock messaging app or one you downloaded from the play store? I know a few messaging apps like Go messenger didn't work properly with the Nexus 4 awhile back, I don't know if it got fixed. As far as dropped calls it shouldn't do that. While the phone is on take out the battery and SIM Card for a minute or so then replace them and try it again.
its the stock messaging app. i'll take out the sim card and see what happens. thanks!

Sorry to hear about your troubles Noah, just give Koodo Tech support a call. BTW, the Google Nexus 4 doesn't have a removable battery.

Ooh I had no idea, I just assumed all the Nexuses had removable batteries, haha!
Let us know if you get it sorted out. I'm debating the Nexus 4 as well, and would hate to see these kinds of issues after upgrading. Sadly the battery isn't removable (easily). One of the drawbacks to the Nexus 4, although given the amount of times I've removed the battery from my Galaxy Ace, I'm not too concerned. 🙂

I was tempted to buy a Nexus 4 as the price can't be beat but I've read the battery life on the N4 is quite poor so I'll wait for Koodo to get the Samsung S4 in stock.
I use a nexus 4 and have not had this issue with dropped calls and double text messages. I think that is an issue with Koodo's service, as I remember I had problems with another carrier before, day after a day light savings time changed, my text messages got all messed up with time stamps. Could be you're in a bad service area and they're trying to push messages to you.
Noah, some people on different then Koodo network reported about the same issue, plus double dialing because of SIM contacts shorted on SIM card tray and few people had resolved this by getting new SIM card. Same SIM will work fine on another phone. My $0.2
I have the same issue. It started the week i bought my phone... Its getting to the point I hate my phone. It seems to happen about 3-4 times a day but if im on the phone LD its every 2 minutes.

Did you try suggestions above? - take out the sim card, replace sim card and/or give Tech support a call. If you still have a problem, I would take it to a Koodo store to send it for repair.
