New nexus 5, changed providers and had my old phone number ported, now texts are not being delivered.


Yesterday I changed providers and had my old phone number ported over. I got a message that said the port was successful. I have no issues making or receiving calls, but text messages seem to not work. There's no error message, every text says it's delivered, but the people I'm texting aren't getting the texts at all. Does this have to do with my phone number being ported?

It might Press and hold the power button until the device reboots, See if that helps.

Did you have an iPhone on your previous provider?
I've rebooted the device multiple times, no dice. And no to the iphone. I had an S3 with my last provider.

If you're still unable to send messages, you can check that your Text Message Service Centre number is set to +16475800172. You should be able to find it by launching your Messaging App then hitting the menu button and selecting "Settings." If that doesn't work, you can call up our Tech Support team at 1-866-995-6636 from a landline for more assistance. Have a great day!
