Hello Germaine. In order to unlock your phone, you would need to call Koodo customer service and talk with technical service.

Here are a list of option available to you

Depends on your phone, can you tell us the model number? It's in Settings>About Phone>Device Model

A user on Android Central posted this about your issue:
"[i]I bought the prepaid moto e 2nd gen. for 50 bucks at walmart the other day and it does work with gsm.
[i]1. Do not activate phone on verizon and do not update to android 5.1
[i]2. Connect to WIFI and download an app on the play store called "network"
[i]3. the "network" app will allow you to change the network mode on the phone from lte/cdma to lte gsm.
[i]4. pop in gsm micro sim(i have tmobile), restart phone and thats it.

[i]If this works on tmobile 4g lte then it should work on family mobile and any gsm network."

Which may or may not work for you depending on what version of Android you are running currently.

The article specifies that Verizon postpaid and prepaid phones are unlocked at point of purchase, with the exception of phone-in-the-box prepaid phones. The app "Network' simply switches between network modes and you can do that without an app.

Hey Germaine! You can also unlock the phone through your self-serve account http://koo.do/22LBbbr! Make sure that your account is in good standing (active), otherwise we will not be able to complete the unlock.

Can you log into self serve  from Koodo's main site?

Depends on your device, it could be cheaper if you use a party unlocking service.

When it comes to Android it's a near certainty that third party options will be cheaper.

Check online for a third party unlocking service. In most cases, the rates are cheaper than Koodo and you don't have to worry about having an active account in good standing. Most third party unlocking services offer a money back guarantee, if for some reason they can't unlock your device. http://www.cellunlocker.net/motorola-unlock.php
