Need Help With Long Distance Fast!

Im going away for 3 weeks and do not want to pay for the extra charge for long distance. I will be calling from within the same province (Nova Scotia) but it will be outside my local area, is there any way I can get a prepaid card to make long distance call and if so from what company (like as in can I use a telus prepaid long distance card since koodo is owned by telus.) My phone is not prepaid ether, it is on a plan, what can I do?

Hi Liam, I take it you are on one of the older plans... you could consider moving to one of the newer Canada wide plans since you won't incur long distance ever again (as long as you are within Canada, of course). Would that be a possibility? What plan are you on currently?

Koodo prepaid boosters are Canada wide minutes
Im on the old $25 dollar plan
So can I add the 25 talk minute booster to my plan?

No, I think Dennis assumed that you were on prepaid... you can't add boosters to a plan I'm afraid. You can go into self service and upgrade your plan to the new $25 plan... this will get you 200 any time nation wide minutes, unlimited 7pm/weekend calling, call display, voicemail, call waiting and conference calling. Also you'll get unlimited international text messaging... But you trade in your per second calling (since the new plans all have per minute rates). Consider it 🙂

Sorry I was heading out and rushed it. If you did not want to lose your current plan, you could get a prepaid sim card and go prepaid for the month. It's an option at least. If not what everyone said below also works
Okay, I access my self serve, but there are multiple phone plans on this one account, how do I access the plan I wish to change?

At the top right there is a dropdown menu that shows the phone number being accessed. Choose the one you want to change the plan for.

You will see Current Plan and New Plan on the page. You can choose Canada wide Talk + Text 25 Dbl (Or anything you want). Try to check each service it will show you "Services you will gain" and "Services you will lose" Then confirm one you like.
