My new unlocked phone won't register on network

I bought a phone from China, my second phone now, supposed to work fine with this network, it's an Oukitel. It won't connect to the network though, says it can't at this time, or else it's not registered. I checked the APN and it's correct. Any ideas?

Can you provide the exact model of your phone?

willmyphonework.net only mentions that it matches 1900mhz for Koodo. Looking at the specs on gearbest, I see that for #G it only has 1900/2100. You require 850/1900 together for it to work on Koodo. It could connect to LTE wherever 2600mhz is deployed though. Did the seller tell you it would work on Koodo?

Here you can see where LTE-A (2600mhz) is available. Are you in one of those locations and it won't connect to LTE either? But willmyphonework states that 4g will not work either.

I'm in Fort McMurray, so it should get 4G both types. They did say it should work with Koodo, and my last phone I bought with similar settings did. It searches and comes up seeing Koodo 4G, just won't connect

You cannot get both types of LTE. It has 4G: FDD-LTE 800/1800/2100/2600MHz and Koodo runs 700, 1700 and 2600mhz for LTE and LTE-A. You are only capable of using it where 2600mhz LTE-A is deployed.  It works with only one frequency and for some reason it doesn't separate 2600 (band 40) into TDD in the specs list, which I assume is an error. This phone likely is not compatible with the LTE-A network Telus/Koodo is deploying if the description is not in error.
Oh BTW have you tried restarting the phone, toggling network on and off, pulling the sim card, and resetting network settings?

I have pulled out the card a few times, rebooted the phone as well, haven't reset the network yet, was going to try factory resetting the whole phone. Which I don't know how it would help, as it's brand new.

I have the same phone. Sends messages and data works. But can't make calls.

That phone isn't fully compatible with Koodo, it only supports the 3G network speed. Could you post a screenshot of the error message you are getting?

Is it dual SIM, many Chinese phones are? If so try the other SIM slot but don't think it's going to work like others stated

The fine print sometimes says that only the first SIM has data access. The second is often voice and messaging only.

Yeah it's duel Sim, tried both, the other phone I have is similar but it works fine

Do you mean the other phone is the same model or is it something else? It's not really applicable unless it's got the exact same frequency bands only.

Yeah it's another model, so guess it doesn't work

Also it was brought to my attention just now that even if it did work, currently LTE is for data only with Koodo. Voice over LTE is deployed by Telus in BC and Alberta for compatible devices only and as of April 30, the last piece of news about it, Koodo is looking into using it as well. It's also not clear that the K10000 has voice over lte compatibility so I suggest returning it if possible.
