My chinese android wont connect/register to the network! Please Help!


I just bought a phone from china to replace my slowly dying Galaxy s2x. For some reason it won't register on the network but it did the first time i started it up. Any help? Koodo uses 3G HSPA+ 850/1900 4G LTE 1700/2100 Your phone uses 2G GSM and 3G WCDMA which do...The specs for Andrew's new phone appear somewhat confusing or perhaps it's a misprint. 2G: GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz 3G: WCDMA 850/2100 MHz The S2x Andrew currently owns, supports these frequencies. 850/900/1800/1900 for GSM/GPRS/EDGE 2100/1900/1700 AWS (hidden), 850 for UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+/Dual Cell HSPA+. I don't see why Andrew's new device shouldn't work on Koodo's network. GSM/WCDMA works perfectly on my S2x.

HSPA stands for high speed packet access, which to my understanding refers more to the data carrying portion of the 3G network, while WCDMA is likely the more correct term for the voice portion. All most people really need to know though is that HSPA and WCDMA are typically used interchangeably.

Although this guy on his ad specifies those frequencies, most clones like those are GSM only. I have searched various sources for this phone in particular and everyone else is advertising it as being GSM only.
