Motorola One Vision Updates

I must say that I am extremely disappointed with this phone. I specifically bought it because it's on the Android One Operating system and this is the advertisement on Motorola, Koodo and Google's website:

"Enjoy three years of monthly security updates, plus guaranteed software upgrades to the latest version of Android One."

I haven't received a security update since December of 2019 and Android 10 has been released since September of 2019. I contacted Koodo and they said to contact Motorola, I contacted Motorola and they said they're waiting on Google, good luck trying to contact Google...  Android 11 will be released and running on numerous phones before I receive a security update let alone Android 10.

How about someone just refunding my money so I can buy a phone that receives timely updates and deliver's on what is advertised?

For those considering this phone, think twice.

Eh, Can you share where you saw the Motorola one Vision listed on the Android one program? I didn’t see that information on Koodo and Google pages at all. It seems it was just another normal phone subjected to update from their manufacturer. Also I would suggest you try to check update manually in the settings, just in case.

It’s an Android One phone and advertised as such on Motorola’s website:

“Enjoy three years of monthly security updates, plus guaranteed software upgrades to the latest version of Android One.”

or Koodo’s website:

“Secure and up to date2. Stay protected with 3 years of monthly security updates, and have the latest version of Android One with guaranteed upgrades.”

Checking manually makes no difference.

Motorola claimed in April that they’re waiting on Google to release the Android 10 update in Canada however there’s clearly a problem as the Android 10 update for this phone was released in other countries in January.

Simply put, I wouldn’t recommend a Motorola phone.

The One Vision wasn’t listed on Google Android One program (I guess this is the most update information from Google). https://www.android.com/one/ Anyway. I will flag a rep to check the incorrect information about the device in Koodo website.

Edited: after further searches: It seems Motorola had Android one on this. a report here said it rolled out the Android 10 back in Jan 2020 (in another country) https://www.xda-developers.com/motorola-one-vision-android-10-official-update-rollout/

Also, in this thread https://forum.telus.com/t5/Mobility/Software-Update-Schedule/ta-p/53566

They mentioned Motorola one vision will have Android Q at Jun8…. so your device might get update really soon….

Good Morning,

This is interesting. I’m glad someone spoke up about this. I have the same feelings about this phone. My wife and I got these phones for the regular updates as advertised through Koodo. Haven’t had a single update since December 2019 and Android 10 is out. Been checking my phone everyday and no new update.

Has this been resolved yet?

You’re not the only one.

But it looks like like some have slowly gotten the update
