Moto G not working after unlocking to work with another carrier - "mobile network not available"

Moto G - I unlocked it using code online and it said "unlock successful". However, it says 'emergency calls only' or 'no service' on the phone. And I cannot make calls - says "mobile network not available". Is this a problem with the unlocking or the sim card/phone service? Thanks for your help!

Hi Amanda, What service provider SIM did you put in the phone? If the phone is unlocked successfully then you should be able to get service. First if you can, try to restart the phone by powering it off and back on, still no service? Go to settings, select More..., Mobile Networks, then Network Operators, choose the network you're trying to connect to and it should automatically connect to it. If not then you may need to configure settings in the phone. That can be provided once you reply. Hope those first steps help! 🙂
