Koodo Community



Mobile network state disconnected.

Over the last couple of days my network connection has deteriorated, going for long periods with nothing, maybe flicking back n for 30 seconds or so and then gutting out again. If has now died completely. Works great on Wifi, just not on the Koodo network.

Phone: Unlocked Samsung Galaxy 6 Edge
Android 6.0.1
Checked for updates.
Device status = official
Signal strength = -93 dBm 10 asu
Service status = in service
Monthly auto pay - payments all good.

To troubleshoot I have so far tried:

Checked no airplane mode.
Confirmed in Mobile Networks settings that Koodo is listed as the network.
Reset network settings.
Reset device settings.

Remove unnecessary apps.
Remove SIM card for 30 mins (cant remove battery).
Factory reset.

Mobile network state is still disconnected.

Do you have another phone to try the sim card in? If not, I'd go to a Koodo store where they can put a good sim card in and your sim card in a good phone to see if the problem follows. It's possible that you need a new sim card.
Unfortunately I don't have another phone that will take this SIM, it's one of the "mini" ones. I am thinking it will probably be a trip to the store, but was hoping someone would notice I've missed a troubleshooting step or something. Thanks!

Your troubleshooting was rather comprehensive. I think you've narrowed it down to a SIM card problem or a hardware problem, with the former being more likely. If it's the latter, I hope that your device is still under warranty.
