The message indicator on galaxy ace is showing as having one new message, but there is none! I can't get rid of it! Please help.

In my experience it is an MMS waiting to be delivered. Try switching on data and see if something comes up

Are you referring to your voice mail or a text message? If it's the voicemail this sometimes happens. Try logging into your voicemail and following the prompts to disconnect rather than just hanging up. You can also try leaving yourself a VM, and deleting it, and then signing out via the button prompts rather than just hanging up. Also try rebooting your phone. Let us know if any of these work 🙂.
Sorry, to be clear it was on text messaging prompt. I can drag don the screen and hit 'clear', but the message pops back up. but the '1' new message never goes away.
i did try powering down the phone and restarting it as well, to no results.

Do you have data enabled? If not have you tested Mo's suggestion?

Your best option is to call tech support and explain the issue to them. I know what the problem is and the method used to clear it and it will only work on the Galaxy Ace. Tell them exactly what you've explained here and they'll be able to clear the stuck message from your Ace.

The same thing just happened to me 2min ago: I restarted the device, switched on data and sure enough 30seconds later an MMS that was waiting on the sidelines showed up.
Hey Mo, I turned wifi off - turned data on - restarted the phone and the message still remained unread. Rikkster, should I call samsung tech support as opposed to Koodo? ... just checking. thank you both

Best to call Koodo and select option 6. (*611 from your phone)

Random thought: Could your inbox be full? Do you have it set to overwrite messages in your inbox or to not? Cos if it is not set to overwrite that might explain a waiting message that is unable to come in.
Just to follow up on this, I called koodo & talked to the folks there. Basically a factory reset fixed my problem. Thanks again!
