Hi Victoria, unfortunately Koodo can't track it for you, you would have had to enable the phones security tracking feature for whatever operating system it's running when you still had the device and then you would have been able to track lock and even remotely wipe the device of all personal information. (Make sure to set this up next phone you get or if you happen to find this one)
You can log into your self serve account and suspend service to the phone so they can't run your bill up however.
How do I do that?

IPhone: https://www.icloud.com/find Android: https://www.google.ca/android/devicemanager To suspend: Login to self serve, view rate plan, change your phone, lost/stolen phone

A few other things to note. The tracking feature will not work if the phones' battery is drained or the phone is turned off. Location access and mobile data must be enabled in order for tracking to get an approximate location of your phone. Tracking will also work if the phone is connected to a Wi-Fi network, (location access still has to be enabled). Helpful if the phone is nearby and connected to your Wi-Fi network. If you've linked your phone to Google, you can locate or ring it by searching for [b]find my phone on google.com https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/6160491?hl=en

Once you report the phone stolen, you will not be able to track the phone unless it is connected to wifi.  Even if you reactiatve the phone, the phone will need to be rebooted for it to work

I'd also suggest getting the phone blacklisted, so that it can't be reactivated.  I can't remember if that can be done through the carrier (by you telling the carrier it's stolen), or if this is another way.

Once you report it lost or stolen it will automatically get added to the blacklist
