Looking for a Samsung J7 pro at a Koodo retailer. - Preferably closer to Lanaudière, QC (Joliette and beyond)

I currently have a Samsung Galaxy Prime and it's outdated, it won't hold battery life and there's barely any device storage because of the default applications, I haven't been able to update anything since October 2017 because of "insufficient space" even though I bought a $40 SD card and it didn't change anything. -- Long story short; I'm looking for a long-lasting phone not something to change every year and have fallen interested in the Samsung J7 Pro but couldn't find it on my Koodo store search. I'm not really interested in buying it online off another company/website, due to warranty issues - that's why I'm asking this question : Are there any Koodo retailers close to me that sell this cellphone?? I've done research and haven't found anything except from other companies, maybe I'm not searching the right thing? Anyways, I'd love to have this phone, if anybody has read my long paragraph and listened my struggles with technology and has an opinion please speak up and thank you so much, hahaha. Good Day :)

Koodo doesnt carry that model unfortunately. Are you set on Samsung?

Koodo doesn't carry it. The closest alternative is the a5 2017 model and the latest A8. The A8 has been very well reviewed and already getting cheaper on medium tab. 4gb Ram 32gb storage and a good higher middle tier CPU will last you years if you're set on Samsung.

Also the J7 Prime is now a 2 year old device so if your looking for a phone you don't want to have to upgrade I don't know if I'd go with such an old device. I'd second Goran recommendation of the A8 if you want a Samsung especially since it was just released a very short time ago so will be supported still.

Awh that's disappointing! I am set on Android and have also seen the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime which would've possibly been my second option. I like them simple-looking, not a wide screen that contours the edges because I'm convinced they instantly break upon dropping. No button to open them by the back like LG models- complicated, a normal charger not the flat recent-looking ones, etc etc. I'm pretty picky but only because I want it to last long. Do you know of any durable and good preforming cellphones from Koodo? 🙂 Thank you for responding so quickly.

Awh that's disappointing! I am set on Android and have also seen the Samsung Galaxy J3 Prime whic...I have a Q6 and I wouldn't recommend it its slowed right down after just a month of having it. You have to optimize it every day or it lags badly... You get what you pay for with smartphones more than anything I've learned... For the most part there are some good cheap options but they're not available from Koodo.... Really wish they had of kept selling Motorola they're the only carrier sold cheap options I can't truly recommend

As far as what Koodo carries I think from the sound of it the BlackBerry Motion would be a good fit. It runs Android not blackberry's OS, it's built really well and its a pretty great all around device especially in a middle of the road price. Anything cheaper than the middle of what Koodo carriers I'd stay away from as they slow down real quick and updates are far and few between in most cases.

Oops just noticed it's online only from Koodo so the BlackBerry Motion is out I guess sorry.
The G6 is an excellent device although battery life isn't great but should see improvement once it gets android Oreo, I mean it depends how you use it as my sister in law has mine now and she has no complaints about battery life. It's actually one of my favorite phones I've ever had of all time.
Not too crazy about the Blackberries, never owned one and they're expensive, I'd rather stick with Samsung, thank you for taking the time to answer, have a great day.

When you are asking for a long lasting phone, what do you mean?
They all can last long physically as long as you dont drop it.  What are your software requirements?

Also with regards to your SD card, have you moved all your multi media files onto it?  Photos, mp3, etc?
What is taking up most of the space on your current phone?  Is it apps?

By long lasting phone I mean something that will last me at least a couple years, something that if I drop the screen doesn't immediately break (someone I know bought a Galaxy S8 and it was ruined after one fall even with a quality case) so that option is out of my mind. I'm careful with my things but if I knock it down or somebody else does I don't want a sensitive screen/slim device that can split or crack, they're making phones skinnier and more delicate. I'm looking for something with at least 32GB so I can leave some things on the device with my downloads/updates/calendar (also have 32GB external available). Yes I've transferred all my files, music, videos and some files that don't fit on the device. From what I've noticed my Galaxy Prime only has 8GB device storage so all the default applications used up all the default space and it's getting slower. 😕 It makes sense though it's almost 4 years old!  I've been looking into the LG Q6 which is on sale and it's nice.

Yea I would never get a phone with 8GB and even 16GB now a days gets slim pretty fast. The thing with the newer samsung devices that makes them prone to breaking is the curved screen. When you drop your phone on the corner with a device like that, you have glass right there and it makes it really easy to shatter.
I've had my Note 8 for almost 8 month now and have been using it without a case and its held up though. Guess it's just wether you want to take the chance and hoping you never have an accident with it.

Yeah it's the curved screen that I wouldn't trust, makes me nervous just by looking at it. This 8GB was my first phone as a.gift so I made it last as I could but it's driving me crazy now. Still shopping around, getting complicated damn.

You're left with 10gb on light skinned android phones with 16gb. I personally don't even wanna go below 64gb but 32 should still be good for a while yet. Leaves you with well over 20gb for apps. I recall my original moto g would have 3.3Gb free and it was 8gb. Definitely too little.

I'm still uncertain about the 32GB I didn't know how much space I'd have left after (20GB you say so long term that isn't much) I think I may go with 64GB if it's something I plan on making last. Thanks!

Depends on how many years you plan on using it. 16 was good for several years. Depends on how many apps you use. Most people don't end up with a lot of apps that they use more than once a week. I'd say 32gb would be good for over 3 years u less you're a heavy app user. 64gb is still on more expensive phones so it depends on your budget. You'd be limited to Asus or Xiaomi for lower cost 64gb phones

the Q6 and both A5 and A8 have 32GB internal plus you can add a SD card up to 128GB.

So you'll have plenty of space mate

Righto 32GB is perfect then! Still looking in on the Q6 or A8 I believe are my final choices, does anybody know cons against these two? Someone mentioned the performance goes down after a month or so for the Q6 but I'm still willing to buy it and keep it organized and keep it updated. Thank you all 🙂
