LG G6 usb/charging port short

The USB-C port on the phone is shorting out the charging cord and burned my finger, bought a brand new charging cable and it happened again. Is this covered under warranty?

Had mine for over a month and had no issues what so ever, haven't heard of any other issues like this with the G6 either so hopefully it's an isolated incident Terry.

Hello Ian,

Did you use the original charging block and cable?

The original charging block and cable was used, after that shorted/melted I went to Walmart and purchased a Belkin certified USB-C to USB-A cable and the same thing happened. Customer service has informed me they will be replacing my phone.

PSA: If you smell burning electronics, the charging cable is hot and stuck in the phone, avoid touching any metal parts if you do manage to disconnect the charging cable to avoid burns.
