LG G5 Sim Card Installation.

So I just got my LG G5 and I have spent the past 45 minutes trying to install the sim card. The thing is, it doesn't really fit and it seems like it has some perforated lines on the sim card itself. I don't want to break it apart and have to buy a new phone because I messed up.

In it's current state, the sim card does not fit into the tray. Yet, the instructional video has a slightly different looking sim card, one that at first glance, would fit into the tray. This however, is not the case with my sim card.

I know it's hard to tell in this photo (for some reason cropping also zooms in)
but the sim card is not inside the tray, it is in fact, on top of the tray.

This photo is for reference sizing.

Am I supposed to be able to see the colored part of the sim card at all?
Is that part supposed to be torn off?

I'm used to full size Sim cards with triple cutouts but I guess this is a micro Sim with a nano Sim perforation. Yes the g5 uses nano Sims so break off the plastic along the perforation of the Sim card and it will fit in no problem.

So in other words, the colored part should be gone entirely when I am done?

Yes Robert just push in the center and hold the edges and it will pop right out and fit into your G5 the colored part will be what your left with to throw out.

Thank you for that. Didn't want to wreck my sim card which would result in the purchasing of a new one.

If the break is not entirely clean, you can use a nail file to smooth out the edges. Just stay away from the contacts, as they are delicate.

They're not that delicate. I've cut into multipla contacts and the card still worked. Wouldn't recommend being careless though (in my case it was the result of using a SIM puncher to try to reuse old larger SIM cards I'd have to replace anyway if it didn't work).
