The manufacturer's warranty is only good for 1 year.  After that you can bring it into Koodo for out of warranty repair.  but you may be better off getting a new phone.

Can all info on phone get transferred to new phone if the screen on old is black?

Depends on why the screen is black, and if the the software to copy the info can access the phone. Is your phone backed up to Google?

@Heather: it is depended on the devices. What phone was it? Google could properly backup your phone contact, note, calendar. If you setup photo back up with google photo, the photo would also be there. I don't think they could backup text message, MMS. But it depends on phones, some manufacturer can backup more.
Thanks for getting back to me. If I get a new phone will they accept the broken phone as a repayment for the lease agreement remaining debt?

The phone is yours along with the Tab owing (an interest free loan, not exactly a lease).
Koodo does have a trade in program, but I'm not sure if they will take a broken phone.

Either way the trade-in value would not be very much for an android phone that was introduced in 2014.

Broken phones are almost never accepted for trade on unless it's some special promo will they will take any phone.

Why would you want to give it back when you can repair it?

if there is a local cell phone repair shop, you might be able to sell the G3 to them, for them to use as parts.  They likely won't give you a lot for it (I recently sold a working LG G3 with a few dings and scratches on the body for $50, and that's honestly more than I was expecting), but it gets it out of your hands and you might get a few dollars out of it.

Depending on how much you have remaining on your tab, it would be more worth it to pay it off and get a new device. For example, the LG G5 is free on Tab Med/Large right now.
