Koodo reported the phone they sold me as stolen. Seriously.

They really did (we can wait and see if they disagree). Apparently it is standard practice when they cannot reconcile their stock. And 6 days later all they can do to resolve the situation is to tell me to wait. I find it hard to believe this company has a community of "fans".

Ouch, that's terrible. Did they say they removed it from the database? Clear your cache and cookie on your browser and check the website again to see if it's still reported as stolen Good luck

Lots of replies but I see my original question remains unanswered. Did you try the above?? I had a similar situation which was subsequently fixed (reported a phone stolen and had it returned to me).

Yes - I am checking regularly and it is still reported stolen. I am waiting for it to be removed from the list. It is not possible for me to know if the hold up is still Koodo or if it is now with whoever controls the blacklist.

Have you called Koodo customer service about this yet? Sucks that this happened to you, unfortunately sometimes things get misfiled and Koodo can't take chances with potential fraud.

Yes. The koodo staff have all been friendly, helpful and (mostly) apologetic. But at the end of the day I paid a decent sum of money for a phone I cannot use because of their mistake... And they do not appear to be able or willing to fix the problem and I think that is unacceptable.

So what ended up happening? If they were friendly and helpful it's not likely that they weren't [i]willing to fix the problem. Probably they were blocked by some non-negotiable policy if the phone's been flagged internally.

I am waiting for my phone to be removed from the blacklist of stolen phones. It is not possible for me to know at this stage if the hold up is still Koodo or whoever controls the blacklist.

Since the phone was apparently lost/stolen...not too sure on the answer to this but would the 15 day MBG apply here? After all, it is NOT the customer's fault for this.
I bought the phone in January. Used it in canada for two weeks and was then abroad until 1st June (I used the phone with a local carrier without issue). It was when I returned and tried to reconnect that I became aware of the problem.

What store did this happen Steve? Shit happens as they say, but the more we point it out their shortcomings the the easier it is for koodo to fix it. I actually beleive they are listening to quite a bit what wea re talking about and they are willing to admit when they screw up. And for that, I'm still a fan of them.
I bought the phone from the pacific centre store in vancouver.
