Just want my phone fixed.

i have a Motorola X purchased less then a year ago from a local Koodo booth. The battery is toast. I visited the Koodo booth to get my phone repaired and the directed me to call a toll free number to have my phone replaced since I was paying for a protection plan. They want to replace my phone with an LG. I just want a new battery for my phone. Does Koodo have a repair department? If not, why can't I exchange my phone?

Why don't you want a new phone? Maybe the Motorola X is discontinued?

Robert is right. Koodo no longer stocks the Moto X so the warranty is offering to replace your phone with a similar value device. You can't just have an exchange because there's no stock to exchange it with. and because the battery isn't removable it requires a technician to open and do the replacement . The warranty company has final say on repair or replacement. Contact them if you're not satisfied but they do make it clear in the service contract that these decisions are at their sole discretion.

Why is the Moto X Play still showing on the webstore if Koodo doesnt sell it anymore guys? Chad is right though that you signed a contract with another company for your extended coverage and they state that they will replace the phone with the same one if in their stock or if not it will be a similar device. Curious what phone they're trying to give you from LG, is it a G4?

Well although I could have sworn it was online sales only l, Paul is right and it is still there . . . however the answer still holds true about stock being available. .

A G3 is what they will give me. Koodo shouldn't be selling phones that no longer are being stocked by the protection plan company. Plain and simple. Thanks for the answers!

And what would you suggest they do with the stock they have already bought and paid for? Bury them in a landfill in the New Mexico desert?
