Japanese Phone IS it compatible?


Friend is sending me a Freetel MUSASHI Dual SIM LTE FTJ161A from japan. and I would like to Know if it will work on koodo? would it get data?

Hi Jorge, No, the phone will not be compatible with Koodo. Telus and Koodo do not operate a 2G GSM network. For the phone to work, you would need to see Bands 5, 2 and 4 or 850/1900 MHz & 1700/2100 MHz (AWS). Japan uses Band 6 for 850 MHz but utilizes a different set of uplink and downlink radio frequencies compared to that of Canada's Band 5/850 MHz.
