Is there a way to get a roaming add-on for U.S. unlimited text online?

I want to get the unlimited U.S. texting add-on, but since I'm already in the States my phone can't send a text to activate it. Is there some way of getting this add-on online through self-serve or something like that?

I am looking forward to this response... I am in NZ and have the same issue..I got the US roaming before I left Canada as I stayed in Hawaii for a week.. but wasnt going to activate the international roaming until I was here in NZ as it was going to waste at least 10 days of my 30 days... now I cant activate it as my Canadian sim wont sign into any of the other networks here.. not entirely happy as I can take other countries sims and at least recieve my texts from those numbers..... yes I do travel a lot.

For you, use the "email us" under contact us to email them ans request the add-on be added

Its the way international roaming works. You need certain free add ons to make your phone work internationally, which aren't reauired when travelling to the US. This is a saftey measure so you don't get home with a surprise bill of thousands. When you add an international roaming package, these free add-ons are added on Koodo's backend so that your phone starts working overseas and the 'roaming add-on' gives you the discounted rate of that certain package. Some people just add the free add-ons to allow their phone to work overseas and don't buy a roaming package and just use their phone whenever and pay the pay-per-use charges

You should be able to add them through self-serve under add/change add-ons. Also with the states roaming, you should be able to send the text while you're in the US. Your phone should be working in the US regardless whether or not you have the add-on first. If you cant connect to a US network, it's because your phone settings are preventing you from doing so. Make sure roaming is enabled.

the short codes you're texting to are operator-specific.
